F1: McLaren rejects Stroll shareholding link
McLaren has rejected a report linking Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll with purchasing a stake in the team
McLaren has rejected a report linking Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll with purchasing a stake in the team.
A report in Italy claimed that Stroll - who Crash.net understands is still interested in Sauber - had been offered the opportunity to invest in McLaren, with Mansour Ojjeh looking to sell his shares. However, McLaren says the rumours are "without a foundation" and denies there has been any interest from Stroll.
"McLaren Group has not received any notification from any of its shareholders in respect of a wish to sell any shares in the company," a McLaren spokesman said. "In order to be able to sell shares in the company, they must first be offered to the other shareholders. These rumours are therefore without a foundation."
