Roger Hayden looking forward to LCR outing
LCR Honda has confirmed rumours that Roger Lee Hayden will stand-in for the injured Randy de Puniet for the United States Grand Prix at Laguna Seca.
The American is currently in the midst of his maiden World Superbike campaign with privateers Pedercini Kawasaki, during which time he has notched up just seven points.
Nonetheless, Hayden does have extensive experience of the Californian circuit courtesy of his tenure in the AMA series. He has also raced at Laguna Seca in MotoGP following a wild-card outing with Kawasaki back in 2007, the 27-year-old raising eyebrows with a solid run to tenth position on his debut.
Marking a return to American competition for Hayden, who will also ride the Moto2 event during the second US round at Indianapolis later this year, he was delighted to be given the chance to impress on the premier stage.
"First of all I want to wish Randy a speedy recovery. It's never nice to see another rider on the sidelines due to injury. I'm very happy that LCR has choice me to fill in for Randy this weekend at Laguna Seca.
"It is a track I like a lot and I hope to do a good job for the team and for all the American fans. I want to thank team Pedercini for giving me the ok, and everyone else involved to make this great opportunity happening."
