Fonsi falls - then wins - wet 250cc GP.
Today's wet 250cc Portuguese Grand Prix was full of surprises as Fonsi Nieto took victory - despite having crashed on lap 13!
Naoki Matsudo had led for most of the way until the unlucky Japanese rider hit the gravel with five laps remaining, at which point he had an eight-second advantage over Nieto.
The Spaniard himself had been able to keep his engine running as he spun on the tarmac at the halfway stage, and rejoined in seventh, then made up places gradually over the remaining 13 laps to the chequered flag.

Fonsi was only able to take five points out of Marco Melandri's championship lead however, as the Italian came home second behind him, and Sebastian Porto took his third podium in as many races after starting from his first career pole on the Petronas Yamaha.
