Bengue concludes deal with BSA.

Former Skoda works driver, Alex Bengue has confirmed that he will take part in four FIA World Rally Championship events this season, beginning in Spain at the end of this month.

The Frenchman, who is something of an asphalt specialist, has concluded a deal with BSA - the team he worked with in 2003, when he took the French Rally Championship in a Peugeot 206 WRC. Although his precise programme is not known, as well as Spain, he will take part in the Rallye de France, while the Rallye Deutschland also looks more than certain, in light of his preference for tarmac events.

Speaking following a recent test with the Peugeot 307 WRC - that he will use in anger for the first time in Catalunya, Bengue was pleased with the initials runs.

"I carried out a one day test in the surroundings of Macon to conduct the first adjustments and I was impressed with my first experiences and with the basic qualities of the Peugeot 307 WRC," he told his official website - www.alexbengue.com. "Combined with the performances of the BFGoodrich tyre, which I know already and with the expertise of BSA, the motivation of the crew and all the team around us, we should be able to go well in Spain and in Corsica."

Bengue, who will again team up with Caroline Escudero, his usual co-driver, took part in all-four WRC tarmac events in 2005 - his best result with the Skoda Fabia WRC, a sixth place finish in France.

"Our goal this year is to build on what we achieved last season and perform strongly on the events that we are now familiar with," he concluded.
