WSS: Roccoli re-signs with Intermoto Honda

Massimo Roccoli has confirmed he will be on the grid for the 2010 World Supersport Championship after extending his agreement with the Intermoto Czech Honda team.

Set to be his fifth season in the category, Roccoli has enjoyed a solid season with the Czech-based team, the Italian heading into the final round of the season in Portugal currently classified in tenth place.

The sixth best placed Honda in the standings, highlights of the year for the 24-year-old have included a podium finish at Misano and a fourth at the Nurburgring.

"After the problems I had in 20088, this year I've started to enjoy myself again and this has led to some good results," said Roccoli, who switched to Honda machinery after three years with Yamaha.

"I've maybe made a few too many mistakes but I've always raced with an attacking mentality and sometimes this has been my downfall. But I'm pleased with my championship so far and at Portimao I'll try and finish it in the best possible way.

"The team have given me the necessary guarantees on a technical level to try and make a quality leap forward and I'm really pleased to be able to take part in a new Supersport season with them/"

Roccoli has won one race during his Supersport tenure, taking victory at Misano in 2006.
