Frentzen Fuels Pointless Finish.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen was left kicking himself after the Italian Grand Prix, after another possible points finish went begging.


The German later claimed to have missed the pit-board calling him in to re-fuel, which forced him to crawl back to the garage as he almost ran dry. Frentzen - who announced at the start of the weekend that he would be joining Jordan for 1999 - was fortunately able to rejoin the race, but could only manage seventh place by the flag.


(I missed my pit signals and board,) said a sheepish Frentzen after the race, (so I ran out of fuel after Ascari. This, as well as having to restart the engine, cost me too much time and, probably a championship point.)
