F1 Gossip: Ex-Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali to replace Chase Carey
- Former Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali is set to make a surprise return to Formula 1 by becoming the new sport’s new CEO, taking over from Chase Carey, who will relinquish his position before the start of next season (RaceFans)
- Lewis Hamilton’s maiden attempt at matching Michael Schumacher’s all-time F1 wins record at this weekend’s Russian Grand Prix will be played out in front of the Netflix cameras, with Mercedes granting access to the makers of the docu-series ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ (Independent)
- Red Bull team principal Christian Horner believes Max Verstappen shares a similar trait to Michael Schumacher in his ability to hold such a big advantage over his teammates in F1, while Horner also insisted that Pierre Gasly “had absolute equality of equipment to Max” during his stint at the team (ESPN)
- Horner has also spoken of his delight at the progress made by Alex Albon during the last triple header of races, as he continues to play down suggestions that Red Bull could complete a swap back of Albon and Gasly between the senior and sister AlphaTauri squads (RACER)
- Meanwhile, Albon has revealed the “quite tragic” way he celebrated his maiden F1 podium finish following the Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello (Formula 1)
