Norris, Piastri, Leclerc, Sainz, Verstappen, Russell, Lawson, Colapinto, Perez, Magnussen, Ocon, Hulkenberg, Gasly, Tsunoda, Albon, Bottas, Alonso, Zhou and Stroll.

Hamilton is the only DNF so far.

Norris and Piastri are in the 1m39.0s, with Sainz just a tenth quicker on his fresh hards.

He rejoins in third ahead of Sainz and Verstappen.

Norris takes the lead of the race.

It's a fresh set of hard tyres for Verstappen as he rejoins in fifth, crucially behind Sainz.

Leclerc, Norris and Piastri stay out.

He's running 2.8s behind Verstappen in the fight for second.

Leclerc, Verstappen, Norris, Piastri, Sainz, Perez, Hulkenberg, Russell, Lawson, Colapinto, Alonso, Ocon, Magnussen, Stroll, Albon, Gasly, Tsunoda, Bottas and Zhou.

He's started to close in on Verstappen in the battle for second. He's 3.7s behind his main title rival now. 

Sainz comes into the pits for new hard tyres.

He rejoins in fifth ahead of Perez on his fresh rubber. He will be looking to undercut Verstappen for second.

Leclerc, Verstappen, Sainz, Norris, Piastri, Perez, Hulkenberg, Lawson, Russell, Alonso, Colapinto, Ocon, Stroll, Albon, Magnussen, Gasly, Tsunoda, Bottas and Zhou.

Out: Hamilton

Leclerc continues to control the race from the front, running 7.9s ahead of Verstappen.

Sainz is 1.7s back in third.

Perez is now ahead of Tsunoda after making the most of DRS into Turn 12.

"Total joke George with the penalty, total joke," Wolff tells Russell.

Russell has been handed a five-second penalty for forcing Bottas off the track when overtaking.

The gap at the front is up to 5.5s as Leclerc tells Ferrari he wants "Plan B or Plan C". 

Leclerc, Verstappen, Sainz, Norris, Piastri, Gasly, Magnussen, Tsunoda, Perez and Hulkenberg.

Leclerc is running 3.6s ahead of Verstappen in the fight for the lead. Sainz is 1.3s off in third.

"It smells like fuel in the car," Sainz reports over team radio.

Leclerc is now 2.5s ahead of Verstappen at the front of the field. Further back, Sainz has dropped to 1.6s behind Verstappen.

Leclerc has opened up a 1.5s lead over Verstappen, while Sainz looks quick again, running 0.5s off the Dutchman.

Leclerc maintains his lead into Turn 1 ahead of Verstappen. Sainz, Norris and Piastri complete the top five in Austin.

The Safety Car is in at the end of this lap. Verstappen will be looking to get back ahead of Leclerc, who had locked up into T1 just before the stoppage.

Hamilton has binned it. He's out of the race and the Safety Car has been deployed.

Sainz is on the attack as he looks to overtake Verstappen with the use of DRS into Turn 12.
