"I think it would be silly to say that I would want to take extra/get penalty points for speaking out on things, but I’m still going to be speaking my mind."
“I have the experience of driving last year’s car, in the new generation,” he explained.
“That means my approach to the simulator is similar to the racing drivers on track.
“I can talk about time models, how the car behaves. So accordingly we can change and adapt the simulator quickly.
“Hopefully with that, we can get the team live feedback and a set of options which will work well on track.
“I will take a similar approach, going to every weekend as if I am racing, keeping sharp.
“I will see what I can learn, what I can take away. I will be as much of a help to the team as I can be."
"It doesn’t surprise me. Nothing will stop me from speaking on the things that I’m passionate about."
"It’s going to go in the lobby but I’ve changed my approach a bit. I wanted to put it in the lobby as a reminder that you must not rest on your laurels, but I want to place it in the lobby as it is a symbol of boldness for me, and courage, we took a radical design direction last year and we dared, and we failed.
"So for me that shows a lot about the mindset of the team, in how it is important to cope with success and failure, and I wouldn’t want us to go in any shape or form conservative in the future. I want us to take calculated risks and be bold."
"I don’t think it plays in Lewis’ mind any doubt that the team can perform. We will. Eventually."

"We are on the weight limit what or we wanted to achieve and obviously when we looked at all the weight savings, everybody needed to make a commitment.
"So it is really a performance issue, but then there is not tonnes of weight you can save on the paint but it shows the intent of what we do and the narrative is just right, not only because of the historical context of how the Silver Arrows were created but also our attempt in painting the car back several years ago is still valid. So it all kind of made sense."
"What you have seen is, in large parts, the car we will test and race."
"It’s not that we don’t want to follow anybody’s idea. We stayed with the narrow sidepod.
"But you could see developments which could come with upgrades. The sidepods will change - not soon, but we are looking at solutions.
"It is not a core, fundamental part of performance."
“I love that challenge, the mental and the physical element of it, of just having to do a deep dive and see if you can extract more performance from yourself and the people around you, from the car that is constantly evolving."
There is an important reason, beyond just image, for the black livery...
"This year we have tried to figure out where we can squeeze out every single gram."
