Grosjean impressed by Haas reaction
Romain Grosjean says he's been impressed by the way his new Haas team has taken a proactive approach to resolving issues with its VF-16 during pre-season testing.
The French driver suffered two off-track incidents during the second test in Barcelona while both he and team-mate Esteban Gutierrez endured long stints in the pits as Haas hit a number of mechanical issues.
As a result, the American team completed the fewest number of laps of any team (412) over the eight days of winter testing and despite the ongoing concerns Grosjean says he isn't too worried as he expected teething problems for the all-new squad.
The former Lotus driver has commended Haas for the way the team has reacted to its problems and is certain the team will give a positive account of itself in its F1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix.
"It is impressive. The way everyone has been working everywhere, the way they have been reacting to problems and the morale has never been down even though there have been some difficult times, so it is a good team," Grosjean said. "It's been tough for everyone, especially for the guys who are away from their home for one month.
"First week was very good, the second week a bit less good but for a new team I think we impressed everyone. But they have done an amazing job, they've been on it all the time. They can relax a little bit and next week we need to work hard to prepare for Melbourne."
