Prost Looks To Barnard For 1999.
Alain Prost is hoping that respected designer John Barnard can help his beleaguered outfit, and he is prepared to move the team to the UK if necessary.
Prost has been talking to Barnard ever since the latter's split with the TWR-Arrows team was rumoured, and hopes that the Englishman can sort out his legal dispute with the team in time to help design the 1999 Prost chassis. Barnard's B3 design company has already provided the French team with help in sorting its current AP01 car, and a more permanent link-up between the two parties looks likely.

(I am talking to John,) Prost admitted, (and the fact that he no longer works with Arrows is certainly interesting for the future.) The Frenchman went on to say that he believed that the designer's wrangle with Arrows should not be difficult to sort out.
The pair worked closely at McLaren during the late 80s, and Prost drove an evolution of one of Barnard's Ferrari designs during his two-year spell with the Italian team.
