Prost To Run 'b' Spec Car In Japan

Prost is hoping to run an evolution version of its troublesome AP01 chassis at Suzuka in an attempt to turn its disappointing season around.


The French team has suffered from continuing problems with its first bespoke car this season, but aims to run a 'B' spec version - featuring a new gearbox, suspension and Peugeot engine at the year's final race in Japan. The car is reported to have run over a second quicker than its predecessor in recent tests.

Jarno Trulli is the driver slated to give the AP01B its first competitive outing, with Olivier Panis forced to continue in the older car. This decision has yet to be rubber-stamped, however.
