The first fruit of the Williams-BMW partnership should be seen in action before the current season has ended, according to sources.
Team boss Frank Williams has hinted that the latest BMW powerplant will run in the back of one of his cars before the one month sabbatical period at the end of the year, as the German company races to improve its product before 2000.
"We hope to test the engine before the one month 'sleepy time' in November," Williams said, "but I don't know if we will make that or not.

"BMW are testing an old Williams car with their first engine at a private circuit - and are having their ups and downs - but I know that they are running a new engine on the dyno, and are on course for the first race next year."
Rumours abound that the first BMW engine is both overweight and under powered.
