Todt: We totally disagree with ruling.

Ferrari's Jean Todt has angrily hit out at the FIA for sending Michael Schumacher to the back of the grid, claiming that they chose not to consider the incident was down to mere driver error.

Schumacher was stripped of his pole position when, after eight hours of deliberation, he was judged to have parked his car deliberately on the Monaco circuit, thus preventing his following rivals from improving their times.

Nonetheless, Todt was furious at what he considers an unfair ruling suggesting that the stewards had no real evidence to assume he had done it with malice.

Ferrari's Jean Todt has angrily hit out at the FIA for sending Michael Schumacher to the back of the grid, claiming that they chose not to consider the incident was down to mere driver error.

Nonetheless, Todt was furious at what he considers an unfair ruling suggesting that the stewards had no real evidence to assume he had done it with malice.

"Ferrari notes with great displeasure the decision of the race stewards, which is to delete the times set by Michael Schumacher in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. We totally disagree with it. Such a decision creates a very serious precedent, ruling out the possibility of driver error.

"Michael was on his final timed lap and he was trying to put his first place beyond doubt, as could be seen from the fact that his first split time was the best and could have seen him do another very good lap. With no real evidence, the stewards have assumed he is guilty."

With Fernando Alonso on pole position now and Michael Schumacher having to start at the back of the grid alongside Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa, the German's chances of winning an eighth title have taken a serious blow.
