Tyler confirmed he had been working with F1 on some new music in a tweet posted to his account on Friday, calling it "a life-long dream come true".

Tyler has also worked on video games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, and wrote the theme for American broadcaster ESPN's coverage of the NFL.

As part of its revamp of F1, Liberty was known to be considering using more music as part of its coverage, potentially incorporated into its over-the-top broadcast service that was announced earlier this week.
