F1 has been pushing a fan-first mantra since the series was taken over by Liberty Media in January 2017 as bosses look to expand its global reach and attract new, previously untapped audiences.
As part of the push to improve F1, the new F1 Fan Voice scheme was announced on Friday ahead of this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, with fans being invited to visit www.f1fanvoice.com and make their thoughts known.
The new platform "allows fans to give their own personal contribution to the sport they love by providing feedbacks and suggestions via surveys, polls, forums and blogs" according to a release from F1.
"F1 Fan Voice, built in partnership with Goodform, is open to everyone and is free," it adds. "In two weeks it has already reached over 24,000 subscribers, with more than 100k poll votes, 20k surveys completed and over 400 blogs opened: figures that confirm how much fans want to make their voice heard and be part of the future of Formula 1."
"It’s an exciting era for Formula 1 and as the sport continues to grow and evolve, we’re committed to ensuring that we’re listening to our fans and meeting their needs," F1 research director Matt Roberts said.
"By sharing fans’ views on our community, whether it be via our regular surveys and polls, or by posting their thoughts on our forums or in a blog, we will be helped to inform decisions at the heart of our sport.
"You’ll see members of the F1 Fan Voice Team taking part in the forums and commenting on the blogs too – they’ll be reading what they post, asking opinions, and making sure that everything our fans are telling us is being listened to. We know that no two fans are the same, and so by sharing their views with us, they will help us to do our job – to deliver a sport which appeals to all of our fans.
"As Ross Brawn wrote in his welcome message, 'fans’ thoughts and feedback are more important than anything else within the Formula 1 community. Without the fans, Formula 1 simply would not exist.' For this purpose, F1 Fan Voice is the right place to be."
