Snap-On to provide tools for leaders circle teams.
Snap-on Tools has joined the Indy Racing League Leaders Circle by providing tool support for the 24 teams participating in the new incentive program, IRL and Snap-on officials announced from Phoenix on Saturday. Each Leaders Circle team will receive $10,000 worth of tools this season from Snap-on.

Snap-on also will present the Snap-on Tools/CAM Good Moves Award at all Indy Racing League events except the Indianapolis 500. The Good Moves Award will provide Snap-on products valued at $1,000 to the Leaders Circle participant that improves the most at the finish from its starting position.
The Snap-on Tools/CAM Good Moves Award started at the season-opening event, the 20th Anniversary Grand Prix of Miami on March 2nd Blair Racing and driver Alex Barron won the award at that event.

We also owe special thanks to Jim King and the Championship Association of Mechanics (CAM) for their help with this agreement."
In addition, Snap-on will continue its sponsorship of the annual Snap-on Tools/CAM Top Wrench Award at the Indianapolis 500, including a $5,000 check, $1,000 in tools, a commemorative toolbox and custom ring to the winner of the award.

Indy Racing League officials announced details of its new Leaders Circle program in January, a program which will significantly increase the package of equipment, supplies and services available to its full-time teams for the 2002 season, including an allotment of Firestone tires.
In addition to Firestone support, members of the Leaders Circle qualify for the following benefits:
*Use of the league-required electronics package, valued at $30,000, at no charge. The package includes a rev limiter, onboard yellow-light system, wire harness, accident data recorder, camera mount and shroud, and timing and scoring transmitter and shroud.
*Use of welding equipment and supplies from Lincoln Electric, the Official Welder of the Indy Racing League, at no cost. The value is $15,000 per team.
*A 25-percent discount on fuel costs.
*Discounted entry fee package for the 2002 season.
