GREG RAY (No. 11 A.J. Foyt Racing/Harrah's Dallara-Chevrolet): "The car was loose the first part of the race. We worked on it and made some improvements. The car was pretty good there at the end, but we were already two laps down. We were actually quicker than my teammate there at the end, but we let him go because he was still fighting for position. Right there at the end, we had an oil fitting break on the motor, and the oil sprayed off the back."

AIRTON DARE (No. 14 Harrah's/A.J. Foyt Racing Dallara-Chevrolet): "It was a really tough race. When I got close to the cars in front of me, I picked up a bunch of push. Then after that last yellow, the car was really loose. I had to save it every lap."

FELIPE GIAFFONE (No. 21 Hollywood Mo Nunn Racing G Force Chevrolet): "My car was fast, but by the end of a stint right before I pitted, the car would get a bit loose. The team told me that I had the fastest lap of the race at one point. The car was fast. I believe that fourth place was good under these conditions. We had to make many changes during the race. During the last pit stop, we found out that the car handled better when we reduced the tire pressures, but by that point, it was too late. The handling improved, but it was not enough to catch the leaders."

GEORGE MACK (No. 31 310 Racing G Force-Chevrolet): "Wow. The weather changes so much that it's constantly changing the car. Constantly, constantly, constantly. At one point, I was good in (Turns) 1 and 2. I could get a real good run, especially when I was following (Buddy) Lazier. It was a trade-off all day. I was in the car messing with the bars, with the weight-jacker, doing all kinds of things, changing my line. All in all, the car's still in one piece. This is my sixth race now. I'll take it, I guess."

MARK DISMORE (No. 2 Menards/Johns Manville/Pittsburgh Paints Dallara-Chevrolet): "We were just chasing the car a lot today. I guess if we had more time to work as a team it would have been much better.

"The car was really good on the last set of tires early. I could go through (Turns) 3 and 4 flat lap after lap, and the leaders weren't able to pull out on me, but then it just went loose. I was on the weight-jackers constantly, up and down, trying to make it better. It's a start, though. All the wheels are on it, and we can go from here."

BILLY BOAT (No. 98 CURB Records Dallara-Chevrolet): "The CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing team worked hard all day. It just didn't seem to be our weekend this weekend. We never really seemed to be able to stay on track. Our car wasn't that bad in the race, we just seemed to be a step behind. All we can do is continue to work hard, plug away, get turned around and get the CURB Records car to the front."

EDDIE CHEEVER JR. (No. 51 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara-Infiniti): "That was a long race. We have to be pleased to be leaving Pikes Peak with no crashed cars in our transporters. It will give us more time to be better prepared for Richmond. The car was fast for about 20 laps on a new set of tires, but I couldn't maintain it all the way through. I think we didn't have enough downforce in the car.

"At least we finished, and the Infiniti engines ran well. This is the most difficult it was to drive the car all year."

TOMAS SCHECKTER (No. 52 Red Bull Cheever Racing Dallara-Infiniti): "I am just glad we brought the Red Bull Infiniti home in one piece. I have no clue what was wrong. I was a second off the pace, and it was oversteering. It was the hardest race I have ever done. I have won races with people all over me that have been easier to drive than this race. It was just hard to keep the car in a straight line.

"Every corner was a different episode. The last five laps seemed like 30. I learned the hard side of oval racing today. I went to Phoenix and had no problems, and I went to Nazareth and had no problems. Here it was very confusing."

BUDDY LAZIER (No. 91 Coors Light/Life Fitness/Tae-Bo/Delta Faucet Dallara-Chevrolet): "We had a really bad day. We just struggled all day long with a loose race car. We never could get the problem under control. My Coors Light car just wanted to swap ends on me the entire race. We had a ton of steering torque, so it was hard to steer. It made for a real long, miserable day.

My Coors Light/Hemelgarn team did a great job with making the best of the circumstances. We couldn't get anything done today, but the guys did a good job."

AL UNSER JR. (No. 7 Corteco/Bryant Dallara-Chevrolet): "Everything we did today was because of my guys and the pit stops they gave me. They passed more cars than I did. I want to congratulate them. Mike (Colliver, team engineer) put a great setup under the car. The Corteco/Bryant car was well prepared, and my guys were awesome. It was a pretty uneventful race for me until the last yellow. The car started to get a little loose, but the bigger problem was the motor. It was definitely developing a problem.

"This team is getting better and better every race. It feels good to run up near the front."

ROBBY McGEHEE (No. 54 Dallara-Chevrolet): "The car wasn't bad. It's just that every break went against us. We didn't get any breaks on our pit-stop sequence. But we have four wheels on the car, and hopefully we're going on to Richmond. I got pushed up in the marbles twice, once in Turn 1 and once in Turn 4. The one in Turn 4 was really scary. But other than getting in the marbles, I didn't really have any other close calls. I guess I was closest to the (Jeff) Ward accident, but I was behind it.

"I'm surprised that 17 cars finished the race. On a 1-mile oval, there's usually more attrition. The Menard Chevy engine was good. It was a good first race for us together. We got to know each other. We lost a little time this morning when we had to replace the fuel pump. The lack of track time at a two-day show affected us. It seemed we never had enough time in practice. But we were here and we finished, so we'll try to build on that and go forward."

RICHIE HEARN (No. 20 BG Products/Western Union/Sam Schmidt Motorsports Indy Car Dallara-Chevrolet): "I really thought we would run better here. Twelfth is better than 13th, I guess. It was a long day. We could just never get a handle on the car. It was pushing or loose. We just never could get it consistent enough to get a consistent run going. We missed it somewhere."

"I'm sure the weather didn't make it any easier, but it was the same for everybody. Looking back on practice and stuff yesterday, I just don't think we ever got it."

SHIGEAKI HATTORI (No. 12 EPSON Dallara-Infiniti): "The car was running good during the race. With my contract with the team, this is my last race. I tried my best."

SCOTT SHARP (No. 8 Delphi Dallara-Chevrolet): "We were happy with another top-five (finish). I am proud of my guys on the Delphi team. The longer runs were better for us. After a yellow, we took about 15 laps to get going. Then we were a rocket, but by then we had to play catch-up. We fought the car early in the day, but the track and the car came to us."

ALEX BARRON (No. 44 Rayovac Blair Racing Dallara-Chevrolet): "It was OK. We had some hesitation problems with the engine. It wouldn't respond when I lifted all the way off the throttle, but other than that, it ran fairly well. The car balance was pretty good. We went a little loose on the end of the run, but as soon as we put new tires on the car, the car got back and was pretty quick. We were hoping to do better than this. We had quite a lot of gremlins before the race started."

GREG BECK (Owner, No. 54 Dallara-Chevrolet): "I think we had a better car than our finishing position shows. On full tanks the car wasn't as good as we wanted it to be. We also got some bad breaks on pit stops. We're disappointed that we didn't do better, but we finished the race, the car is in one piece, and now we'll try to go on to Richmond."

LAURENT REDON (No. 34 Mi-Jack Dallara-Infiniti): "Our beginning was very good. The car was really good, and we had one of the best cars on the track when the temperature was high. Then it became cloudy and cold, and the car setup changed quite a lot. We had big understeer, especially in traffic. I think that's the reason I lost two places at the end. I'm a bit disappointed by that, but we've had such bad luck since Nazareth.

"It's always good to finish and score points, even if it's seventh place. It's better to be in the top 10, but I'm sure we could have done much better. I think we just need a bit more luck, but it's good to finish and score some more points.

"When it rained, it didn't affect me that much. In the beginning, we were thinking about fuel economy, so I was pretty happy that the yellow came out. I thought it would be good, and we would only have to do one more pit stop. After that, I was beginning to do a good restart, and then the red (flag) came out.

"We always had good restarts. We were pretty aggressive. We were doing well for the first 150 laps. For the last 30 or 40 laps, we were not that good, so we just have to work on that. We were so close to having a top result. We could have been with the top four guys. In a few hours, we'll think about our result and be happy because we will realize that we came back and finished seventh after our bad luck at the past few races. This is the first time for me and the team at the track, so I think it's pretty good."
