Burger King joins PDM for 500.
Having made the final row of the grid at the last gasp on Bump Day, PDM Racing has gone even later in signing up a major sponsor for today's Indianapolis 500, confirming the involvement of Burger King overnight.
The fast food chain will be the primary sponsor on the #18 Dallara-Chevrolet Indy veteran Robby McGehee, and joins the host of smaller companies who made last weekend's qualifying effort a possibility after weeks of fruitless searching by the team.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for our team to have corporate backing from Burger King," McGehee admitted, "We will give them national exposure during the largest single day sporting event in the world, and plan on doing so for five-hundred miles."
Team owner Paul Diatlovich also expressed his appreciation, as his new sponsor decided to use the Memorial Day weekend to introduce its new Angus Steak Burger - the first time a national burger chain has offered consumers a premium burger made of 100 per cent Angus beef.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to have such a great company come on board with us," Diatlovich said, "Our goal is to make each of the 11,000+ Burger King owners and operators proud on race day."
PDM will continue to receive support from its existing sponsors, among them Carmelo Natoli, the president of Natoli Engineering which featured prominently on the side of McGehee's machine as he qualified.
"I am very happy for Robby and the team to have such a tremendous opportunity with the addition of Burger King," he said, "We are behind this effort 100 per cent, and look forward to being part of the greatest race in the world."
