Chicagoland skydiver remains in hospital.
While Ryan Briscoe's fiery crash understandably dominated the post Chicagoland headlines, the young Australian driver wasn't the only person to leave the 1.5-mile oval in an ambulance.
As part of the pre-race build-up to the Peak Antifreeze Indy 300, several members of the Mark Schlatter skydiving team landed on the front stretch infield. One of them, Carl Priggee, landed heavily and was last seen being stretchered into an awaiting ambulance.
Several days following his crash, Priggee remains in Silver Cross Hospital with a sprained ankle and back pain.

Priggee, a veteran of more than 3,300 jumps in 26 years, sustained a sprained left ankle and is suffering from back pain. Priggee has undergone a series of X-rays and CAT scans and will undergo an MRI to further evaluate his neck and back.
The Indy Racing League utilizes two skydivers in the pre-race ceremonies at each event. On September 11th, both skydivers said the winds inside Chicagoland Speedway were "swirling" with a lot of force, which caused both jumpers to have hard landings.
