FA: Strous takes flight with Condor.
Condor Motorsports has revealed Holland's Junior Strous to lead its team in next year's Champ Car Atlantic series, following several successful days of testing at Buttonwillow Raceway.
Strous, who has campaigned in the Formula Renault Eurocup in recent years, had been pursuing an Atlantic deal for 2006, but missed out when he failed to raise the sponsorship required to secure a seat. However, having been put back in touch with Condor boss Carlos Bobeda, he displayed enough ability while testing in California to persuade the team to take a chance on him for next year.

However, having been put back in touch with Condor boss Carlos Bobeda, he displayed enough ability while testing in California to persuade the team to take a chance on him for next year.
"Junior did a great job and made huge progress over the two days," Bobeda noted, "I am certain that he will be a main championship contender in 2007."
Backing for the programme will come from a handful of international companies, with a formal sponsorship announcement expected in the next few weeks. Strous follows in the footsteps of fellow countryman Charles Zwolsman, who took Condor to the 2005 Atlantic championship before stepping up to a successful Champ Car campaign this year.
Condor ran Brazilian Danilo Dirani in 2006, claiming seventh overall in points.
