FA: Thienes joins Condor.

Condor Motorsports have strengthened their Champ Car Atlantic line-up to three with the signing of Brian Thienes, who joins Franck Perera and Junior Strous in the team.

A relative veteran compared to the majority of drivers on the grid, 44-year-old Thienes comes to the team having competed in the Star Mazda series prior to conducting two races with McAtee Motorsports at the end of last season.

Indeed, Thienes is thrilled to be joining Condor, who last season ran a single-entry for Danilo Dirani, not least because of his talented team-mates Perera and Strous.

"I am very excited to participate in the Champ Car Atlantic Championship with Condor Motorsports," he said. "Especially having such talented teammates as Franck Perera and Junior Strous, I'm really looking forward to the 2007 season."

Condor Motorsports team owner Carlos Bobeda is also delighted to be welcoming Thienes to the team, claiming his dedicated nature will be an asset to the squad.

"Brian is a great addition to the team. He is very down to earth and extremely dedicated. What impressed me the most about Brian is that although he is not trying to make a career in auto racing, he takes it very seriously. He spends countless hours examining data. He's always looking for ways to improve."
