Yamaha and Rinaldi introduce 2003 kit parts.
The Yamaha Rinaldi Research & Development (YRRD) partnership between Yamaha and motocross expert Michele Rinaldi turns another page in its history with the introduction of performance kit parts for the YZ250F and the new-for-2003 YZ450F four stroke models.
The YRRD partnership was formed in 1995 with the initial goal to develop high performance customer kit parts derived from the official factory machines.

The YRRD partnership was formed in 1995 with the initial goal to develop high performance customer kit parts derived from the official factory machines.
The now eight-year-old venture proved highly successful and the program has been expanding year after year, resulting in performance parts kits for Yamaha's YZ-model range being sold to top international and national level privateers all over Europe.
For 2003 the YRRD Motocross kit parts will be available for the YZ125 & YZ250 2-stroke models, as well as for the YZ250F and the new YZ450F 4-stroke models.
In 2002 the continued success of the program was highlighted by Italian Luca Cherubini, who won the 125 European Championship, while Saso Kragelj from Slovenia secured the title in the Open class of the European Championship on a YZ250. Both riders used YRRD racing parts equipped machines. Besides these future world championship contenders, present stars, like 2002 MX500 world champion Stefan Everts, Fr?d?ric Bolley (YZ250) and Luigi Seguy (YZ125) use and help to develop YRRD parts.
Yamaha has been leading the way into introducing championship-winning four-stroke technology to the off-road world for the last six years and their commitment has resulted in unparalleled Moto - and Supercross race success and yielded class leading bikes like the YZ250F and the all-new YZ450F.
To support YZ250F and YZ450F riders that want an extra performance edge over their competitors, Yamaha have made available YRRD four-stroke race kits that can be obtained through the European Yamaha distributors and (selected) dealers. The YRRD programs' main objective is to stimulate the use of Yamaha machinery and help the customers to achieve their racing goals, rather then to achieve any direct commercial benefits.

YZ125:
Cylinder Head - sand-casted type with different combustion chamber for improved cooling and performance.Cylinder + exhaust valve - modified production cylinder, based upon YZ125 2003 model.Piston - piston for new 2002 and 2003 YZ125 cylinder. Note; standard YZ piston cannot be used with YRRD kit cylinder and head.Reed valve - carbon fiber for better response and durability. Biaxial type.CDI - YRRD latest generation CDI box providing optimum ignition characteristics.Exhaust pipe - special pipe that is different from 2002 spec. The kit comes with two different exhaust pipe specifications: version "T" for Top power and version "L" for Low rpm/bottom power.Silencer - special type made of new material (different from 2002 model, presently under testing).Magneto rotor unit - magneto rotor with higher inertia than standard YZ125.Valve breather - 1 aluminium plug for valve breather 1 hose.Crankcase Cover - machined factory crankcase cover for higher rigidity.Carburetor setting parts - kit includes all parts for optimum setting of Mikuni YZ125 '03.Kit manual - instructions for correct installment of the YRRD kit.

YZ250:

Piston - special forged single ring piston.Crankshaft assy - standard YZ250F crankshaft assembled with special forged YRRD connecting rod (longer than standard). Connecting rod specification: Forged material with bronze metal bush for piston pin.Camshaft - different camshaft timing and profile.Intake & exhaust valve - special profile and from different material for better durability.Valve spring - spring to reach higher engine RPM revolution.Cylinder gasket - standard cylinder gasket (spare).CDI - latest generation CDI box providing optimum ignition characteristics.Exhaust pipe & Silencer - exhaust pipe includes: Pipe 1, Central Pipe, Silencer (dB noise level in accordance with FIM standard Rule).Radiator Cap - higher pressure radiator cap (up to max. 1.8 bar).Crankcase Cover - machined factory crankcase cover for higher rigidity.Oil Pump Plate - modified oil pump plate for better clutch feeling and lower fuel temperature in the tank. 0.4 kg weight reduction.Carburetor - setting Parts Kit includes all parts for optimum setting.E/F Bolts, etc. fitting set - bolts, metal plug etc. for engine parts fitting.Kit Manual - instructions for correct installment of the YRRD kit.
