Now it's practice start time, one of the most popular moments of the day for the fans, team members and media alike, who flock to the start/finish line.
Let's just hope there is no repeat of di Giannantonio's unfortunate wheelie incident last night, the VR46 rider falling ands breaking his collarbone while on his way around the track for a practice start.
6pm and day 2 at the Official Sepang test ends, some riders are still on personal best laps, but no-one is threatening long-time leader Franco Morbidelli.
The VR46 rider finishes the day 0.114s ahead of Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo.
Alex Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer, Francesco Bagnaia, Joan Mir, Pedro Acosta, Miguel Oliveira, Marco Bezzecchi and Jack Miller complete the top ten.
Into the last 10mins and Fabio Quartararo, currently second to Morbidelli, is setting all time best sectors. The Shakedown leader is looking to stay on top for the second day running...
...but time slips away from him in the second half of the lap and he remains 0.114s behind Morbidelli.
Acosta continues his time attack and climbs to 6th. Team-mate Brad Binder is up to 9th.
25mins to go and Pedro Acosta breaks into the top ten with eighth place.
Bagnaia, who didn't do a time attack yesterday, is setting personal best sectors and now up to 5th behind Morbidelli, Quartararo and Alex Marquez.
Just over an hour of testing to go and the top ten is: Morbidelli, Quartararo, A.Marquez, Aldeguer, Oliveira, Bagnaia, Zarco, Miller, Rins, Mir.
Francesco Bagnaia is up to 6th. Team-mate Marc Marquez is still currently 11th.
The temperatures are dropping and orange sectors (personal best) are starting to flash up on the timing screens. 1 hour and 15 mins of testing remaining on day two.
The rain spots have passed and bikes are back on track.
Rain lights are flashing on the main straight, the riders on track all pull in.
Coming up to 4pm and the heat seems to finally be easing, more riders are heading out and the lap times should improve as we get closer to the 6pm track closing time.
Alex Marquez breaks the silence, he's back on track for Gresini. Marquez is currently third and just 0.130s behind test leader Franco Morbidelli, also on a Ducati GP24.
A few dark clouds are starting to gather over the home straight, given the heat today it wouldn't be a surprise if the classic Sepang afternoon storm makes an appearance at some stage.
2:25pm local time and there are currently no riders on track.
Top speeds so far today:
- Morbidelli 339.6km/h
- A.Marquez 339.6km/h
- Binder 338.5km/h
- Acosta 338.5km/h
- Bagnaia 338.5km/h
- Bezzecchi 338.5km/h
- Oliveira 338.5km/h
- Quartararo 337.5km/h
2pm local time at a scorching hot Sepang and the top three is still Morbidelli, Quartararo and Alex Marquez.
There are currently only three bikes on track, the Ducati GP25s of Marc Marquez (9th), Ducati team-mate Francesco Bagnaia (13th) and test rider Michele Pirro (20th), probably gathering data in 'race time' conditions.
Top six: Franco Morbidelli, Fabio Quartararo, Alex Marquez, Fermin Aldeguer, Miguel Oliveira, Johann Zarco.
Just gone midday and, given the heat, it'll be harder to improve on lap times.
Franco Morbidelli is still on top from Fabio Quartararo, Alex Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer but Miguel Oliveira is up to fifth for Pramac Yamaha and Johann Zarco sixth for LCR Honda.
