Rossi, Lorenzo get new frame for Assen
Yamaha has confirmed that its new chassis will be available for Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo at the forthcoming Assen MotoGP round.
After a positive first impression with the frame at the official Catalunya post-race test, the Movistar Yamaha riders returned for a further day of private testing on the Tuesday.
"The main task [for tomorrow] is to decide which chassis is better. If we conclude that the new frame is better, we might have it ready at the next round in Assen," team director Massimo Meregalli had explained.
While no official information was provided following the private test, a team spokesman has told Crash.net: "Yes, the new chassis will be available for both riders at Assen."
Lorenzo is now ten points behind Honda's Marc Marquez in the championship standings, with Catalunya winner Rossi closing to within 22-points of the top.
