Monstermob wants McWilliams.

Paul Bird, owner of the Monstermob British Superbike team, has made Aprilia MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams 'an offer he can't refuse' for next season.

Bird, who has previously won the BSB title with Steve Hislop and McWilliams' 2004 team-mate Shane Byrne, will switch from Ducati to Honda machinery for 2005 - and wants the GP veteran to join fellow Ulsterman Michael Laverty for Monstermob's assault on the British series.

"Jeremy is a world-class rider and I have told him he can have the number one spot in my team," the BBC reports Bird as saying.

Aprilia's MotoGP future remains uncertain following Piaggio's purchase of the company but, even if McWilliams finds himself out of an RS Cube ride, the hard charging 40-year-old could remain in the premier-class with seats currently still available at WCM, d'Antin Ducati and his former employer Proton KR, which is aiming to run KTM V4 engines next season.

Meanwhile, in addition to the Monstermob BSB offer, McWilliams has also been linked to a possible World Superbike move - the main attraction of both being the realistic chance to win races next year.

MonsterMob Ducati finished fifth in this year's British Superbike championship with Sean Emmett (lower pic) winning two races and standing on the podium a further six times.
