Tamada should make Shanghai.

Konica Minolta Honda rider Makoto Tamada should be able to compete at next weekend's inaugural Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai after a CAT scan on his injured wrist revealed that, despite initial fears, he has no fracture.

Tamada injured his right wrist when he fell from his RCV during final qualifying for the Portuguese Grand Prix at Estoril, and was forced to sit out the race as a result.

"After the CAT scan the condition of our rider is more clear and Makoto hasn't a fracture," Konica Minolta Honda director Luca Montiron told Crash.net.

"He could not completely move his right hand, but I think he'll be in China for the GP," added the Italian. "At the moment I don't think we'll have to substitute Makoto with another rider. We'll inform you if the situation should change."

First free practice for the Chinese Grand Prix will take place next Friday.
