Team Roberts to run new V4 at Le Mans.

Team Roberts will be boosted by a new specification KTM engine at this weekend's French Grand Prix at Le Mans, despite missing a planned test with the powerplant last week.

The Banbury based outfit and rider Shane Byrne were absent from the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai due to a lack of parts for the previous generation V4, and had instead intended to run a two-day test session - with the new engine - at Jerez, where former rider Jeremy McWilliams was also expected to help with development.

That test didn't take place, but Team Roberts general manager Chuck Aksland has confirmed that they will use the new engine this weekend, for round four of the 2005 MotoGP World Championship.

"Unfortunately we did not make it to the test, but it (the new engine) will be used at Le Mans," Aksland told Crash.net.
