The Spaniard spent his second day trying different set up configurations to solve the traction problems he suffered during the race weekend and also continued tyre testing.
"Today it was a little bit cold but we could test in dry conditions and this helped us to better understand some interesting things," said Sete. "Together with HRC and Michelin we are doing a great job and I look forward to race to Mugello, my team's home grand prix."
Gibernau's team-mate Marco Melandri had set the pace on Monday with a 1min 33.707secs, but with the Italian having departed for his UK home it was left to the sole Repsol Honda rider at the test, Nicky Hayden, and Ducati Marlboro riders Carlos Checa and Loris Capirossi to push the #15 today.
Indeed, Hayden and Checa both closed to within 0.01secs of the double MotoGP runner-up, while Capirossi was a mere 0.1secs further back.
