Capirossi: Assen was the best.
Ducati Marlboro's Loris Capirossi has an enviable record at Assen, venue for next weekend's Dutch TT, having won the 250cc race in 1993 and 1999, scored premier-class podiums in 2000 and 2001 and claimed pole position in 2003.
As such, the Italian is a big fan of the unique, twisting, high-speed racetrack - but it has now dropped from the top of his 'favourite list' due to recent modifications.

"I have always loved Assen; it used to be one of the best tracks in the world, but maybe not any more because they keep changing it. I don't like the new sections they've made," he said.
Unfortunately for Capirossi, and many other Assen fans, further alterations are due at the end of this year when much of the circuit's northern loop will be lost.
