Melandri participation still 'uncertain'.

Marco Melandri's participation in the Malaysian GP this weekend is still uncertain, although the Italian has now made the trip to Sepang for the latest round of the MotoGP season.

Melandri required immediate surgery on a deep flesh wound caused by the footpeg on his Movistar Honda digging into his right foot after he was accidentally rammed by Valentino Rossi during Sunday's Japanese GP at Motegi, with the wound now healing well.

However, while Melandri hopes to return to the track as soon as possible, it still isn't clear whether of not he will be deemed fit to race in Malaysia.

This morning the doctor took out the small drainage system and told me that the wound is recovering correctly. According to him I could start walking on it a little bit. I'm serene and want to proceed with calm."
