Troy Bayliss has declared he'll be back 'stronger and faster' once he recovers from the wrist injury that has sidelined him for the past four grands prix - including this weekend's Australian event at Phillip Island - Baylisstic's home race.

"I haven't got a good memory but I think this is the first time I have missed races," Bayliss wrote on his official website troybayliss.com. "I've been rolled, bowled and sat on but this one has slowed me up so much I have not even been on my bicycle. If I could rewind time this would be one I'd like to do, but sh*t happens and it has.

"I've been watching everyone (replacement riders Tohru Ukawa and Shane Byrne) on my bike and now Chris (Vermeulen) is up for a go. I wish him the best and hope he can do well at home round in Oz," continued Troy. "I'm trying to come back for the last two races but like I said, its slowed me up. I didn't really break my wrist I smashed it.

"I've certainly had some father time with the kids in the last 4 weeks, which has been the only plus that has come out of it, but Kim is ready to send me off to the nut house because I'm getting in the way and just being a pain in the arse.

"Well hi to all my supporters, sorry I won't be at the Island but I'll be back bigger, stronger, faster... not really bigger!" the former World Superbike champion concluded.

The penultimate round of the 2005 MotoGP World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix, takes place next weekend with the season finale at Valencia on November 6.

Bayliss has yet to announce his 2006 plans after a difficult debut year with Camel Honda even before his injury, but former employer Ducati are interested in hiring the Aussie to lead their World Superbike attack next season.
