Suzuki, Repsol Honda congratulate Melandri.

Team Suzuki and Repsol Honda joined much of the MotoGP pitlane in congratulating Marco Melandri on his first ever premier-class victory, claimed after beating Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden in Sunday's inaugural Turkish Grand Prix.

"We are very happy for Marco and for Honda," said Repsol Honda team manager Makoto Tanaka sportingly. "He has really been in another class all weekend and this is a great reward for his and his team's work."

Suzuki's sole rider at Istanbul, John Hopkins, would finish the Turkish Grand Prix in 15th place.
