The opening day of the first Official MotoGP test session of 2006, held at Barcelona, saw Tech 3 Yamaha riders Carlos Checa and James Ellison debut a striking yellow livery on their YZR-M1s.

In the absence of a title sponsor, tyre supplier Dunlop is believed to be footing a significant part of the team's budget for this season.

This appears to be reflected in the new livery which features Dunlop's traditional yellow and black colourscheme, with the tyre brand's logo placed prominently on the front and side of the fairings. The only other large logo present is that of Yamaha.

Of note is that, with factory Yamaha team running in Camel yellow this year, all four M1s will look very similar from a distance...

Meanwhile, Checa took the new livery to an excellent third fastest time at the end of day one, with Ellison 16th out of the 20 riders present.
