Marquez to continue with test parts, won’t try Lorenzo fairing
Marc Marquez says he will trial parts which he experimented with at the Catalan MotoGP test at Assen but won’t use the new fairing Jorge Lorenzo is expected to try out this weekend.
The Repsol Honda rider worked through new chassis and aerodynamic parts, plus some select 2018 parts, at the one-day post-Catalan MotoGP test and having been given a boost he is eager to try the parts at Assen to provide comparison running at a different circuit.

Marquez, who leads the MotoGP standings by 37 points following his home victory at Montmelo, is duly targeting a strong run into the summer break at Assen and Sachsenring starting with testing out the new parts.
“We did a good test in Montmelo. We have some things here we need to retry in a different layout like Assen,” Marquez said.
“We have two important races here and Germany before the summer break and it will be good to go into the summer break, the short summer holidays, in the best way.”
Despite his enthusiasm for the test parts, Marquez was dismissive of trying a new fairing developed by Honda to help team-mate Lorenzo adapt to the RC213V.
“I don’t know. I will just concentrate on my package as I know he is trying many, many different things and Honda is giving him good support because he needs it,” he said. “I will just concentrate on my side of the garage.
“It is the first new fairing for him, maybe it is the same fairing that I tried at Montmelo, I tried one fairing in the test, but it is not my way. So I will continue with my base.”
