Michael Dunlop grabs four wins at Cookstown 100 after late entry
Michael Dunlop kicked up his Isle of Man TT preparations this weekend at the Cookstown 100

Thirty-three-time Isle of Man TT winner Michael Dunlop swept to four victories at the Cookstown 100, after making a late entry to the event this weekend.
The Ulsterman wasn’t meant to compete at this weekend’s Cookstown 100 races, but was announced on Friday as a last-minute entry.
Though recently announcing Ducati machinery in the Superbike and Supersport classes for the North West 200 and the TT, Dunlop raced his BMW Superstock bike from last year, as well as a Honda Moto3 machine for the Burrows squad.
He told the BBC on Friday: “It was a bit of a late, last-minute thing.
“We are so busy, and we weren't going to come as the 600 [Supersport bike] is stripped to bits to get ready for the North West 200 as it is just around the corner.
“I brought my Superstock. I like it, and I like riding Cookstown.
“It has always been nice to ride around here, and it is a good thing to get out and get a bit of racing done. The weather is lovely, and that is half the battle.
“The biggest thing with the Stocker is that we haven't had much time on it, so it gives it a chance to get an outing.”
Dunlop grabbed victory in the Open A race on Friday on his MD Racing Superstock BMW, with a result declared on lap seven of nine after a red flag incident brought an early end to the contest.
On Saturday, Dunlop dominated the Moto3 race, getting to the chequered flag almost 10 seconds clear of Dan Sayle.
In the Open A race, Dunlop battled hard with Michael Sweeney, who was only 0.870s behind the 33-time TT winner before the race was halted due to a red flag incident.
The result was declared in Dunlop’s favour.
In the final race of the event, Dunlop romped to another dominant victory, getting his BMW almost nine seconds up the road on the rest of the field, while setting a new lap record of 92.1mph.
Paul Jordan took top honours in the Supersport race on Saturday, as he puts miles on his Ducati V2 Panigale ahead of the North West 22 and the TT.
Michael Sweeney won Saturday’s Supertwin race from Darryl Tweed and James Chawke.
