Hutchinson victorious at Macau Grand Prix
Ian Hutchinson took a stunning victory at the Macau Grand Prix to cap a sensational return to racing after 18 months on the sidelines.
The Milwaukee Yamaha rider hit the front from Michael Rutter on lap five and was two seconds clear before the race was stopped after newcomer Dean Harrison from Bradford crashed out unhurt on the RC Express Racing MSS Kawasaki.
SMT Honda rider Rutter took second place from the Yorkshire ace, who was back in competitive action for the first time since the 2012 Isle of Man TT.
Hutchinson seized the lead from Rutter on lap five and went on to pull out a gap of more than two seconds, which he maintained until the race was stopped.
John McGuinness on the Honda TT Legends Fireblade led the race on lap one, with David Johnson from Australia and Horst Saiger crashing unhurt at Lisboa.
However, both Rutter and Hutchinson soon passed the Isle of Man TT star and the pair became involved in a battle, with 'Hutchy' emerging on top to win by 2.4 seconds.
Gary Johnson took third on the Quattro Plant Honda ahead of McGuinness, with Jimmy Storrar next.
American rider Jeremy Toye completed the top six ahead of British Superbike challenger Martin Jessopp and Didier Grams, with Lee Johnston and Stephen Thompson the top ten.
