NW200: Franck Petricola in 'serious but stable' condition
French competitor Franck Petricola in a 'serious but stable' condition in hospital following an accident during practice at the North West 200
French rider Franck Petricola is 'serious but stable' following an accident during practice for the Superstock class at the North West 200 on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old, a newcomer to the event, came off his BMW machine at the Primrose corner section of the circuit with minutes of the session remaining.
He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
Mr Petricola is in the intensive care unit but his injuries are said to be 'non-life threatening'.
He was riding for the Ice Valley BMW Team on his debut at the 8.9-mile circuit.
