The Boston Barracuda-Braves Team Manager, Malcolm Vasey, has labelled the 'Lincs FM' Scorpions one of the Conference League's 'super teams' ahead of their Lincolnshire Cup clash on Monday night.
"After Mildenhall's dominance in 2004 the rules made it harder to produce a 'super' squad but somehow Scunthorpe have done it and we have an opportunity to try and beat them and we will have a go". "They have been lucky to have had two very talented reserves as we all know and they have had very few injuries, but over the season they have wiped the floor with just about everybody so good luck to them. But we would like to beat them on Monday if we can and we will give it a real go"
The Lincolnshire Cup is usually held over two legs but with the end of the season just days away and considering the Scorpions dominance of the Conference League it has been agreed to put the trophy up for the winners of Monday's meeting at King's Lynn (Boston's home track whilst they look for a suitable site).
