Betta Stores Ltd has re-affirmed its commitment to the V8 Supercar Series, with the renewal of its Team Betta Electrical V8 Supercar sponsorship of the Ford Triple Eight Race Engineering team through until 2009.

Betta Electrical CEO Guy Houghton was pleased to make the announcement.

"Our involvement in the championship has been very positive and the directors are confident that our continued involvement will reinforce the positive brand awareness and increasing media exposure that motor racing provides," he said. "In today's competitive market our organisation is confident that the media awareness that V8 Supercars attract, satisfies our key market demographics and provides a consistent platform for increasing brand awareness.

"With the sport growing rapidly in popularity as shown by the increasing attendances and positive broadcast audiences, we are surprised that other major Australian consumer brands have not taken up the opportunities, available in the V8's."

Betta Electrical have been the major sponsor of the two-car Ford team since 2001. This re-signing confirms them as a commercially independent sponsor with the team and extends the three year sponsorship for a further four years.

Triple Eight Race Engineering team principal Roland Dane was also pleased the new deal is in place.

"We are happy that Betta Electrical recognises the positive commercial value that V8 Supercar racing brings," he said, "and with Craig Lowndes joining the team in 2005, we can only expect to enhance Betta Electrical's brand equities.

"Complementing our objective of winning the Championship sooner rather than later, we also aim to explore the mutually beneficial opportunities of aligning our key stakeholders being Betta Electrical, LG, Sunbeam, and Ford."

Betta Electrical is looking forward to an exciting 2005/2006 with some new promotional programs being planned and ready to be launched in 2005.

"With our current brand message promote 'Go One Betta,' I am very confident that the Team's renewal will bring additional paradigms to motor sport," Houghton said.
