Pons to make Xsara debut with new co-driver.

Production Car WRC competitor, Xavier Pons will make his debut with the OMV backed Kronos Racing squad next weekend, when he drives a Citroen Xsara WRC on the Acropolis Rally.

Greece is Pons' first event with the team, after agreeing a deal late last month to contest six 'senior' WRC events, in addition to those he is already committed to contesting as part of the PCWRC.

The Spaniard though will not only have to get use to the Xsara, but he will also have a new co-driver, in the shape of Carlos del Barrio, as former partner, Oriol Julia will be partnering Citroen Junior WRC driver, Daniel Sordo.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank Oriol for the professional teamwork during the last two years - and to wish him all the best for his next projects," said Pons.

"It's important to me though to gain experience [next weekend], therefore each kilometre counts. I absolutely want to reach the finish on Sunday in Lamia.

"I'm really looking forward to my first assignment in the Citroen Xsara WRC."
