Team Toth set to swell BMW ranks
Team Toth appears set to graduate to the World Superbike Championship in 2014 by entering a pair of BMW S1000RRs in the main class and the newly-formed EVO category.
The Hungarian rider-owner has a competition history spanning several seasons in the 125GP and 250GP classes, but has most recently participated in the World Supersport Championship with his eponymous two-man Honda team.
For 2014, however, according to several European sources, Toth will enter a pair of BMWs for himself in the main category and countryman Petr Sebestyen, who competed in the PATA European Junior Cup in 2013, in the EVO class.
Toth's proposed two-man entry means there will be at least three BMWs on the grid in 2014. However, with double Superstock 1000 Champion Sylvain Barrier set to participate in the EVO class this season too, Toth's bike will be the only BMW in the main class.
The opening round of the 2014 World Superbike Championship season gets underway at Phillip Island on Feb 21-23.
