Razgatlioglu level on points with Rea after dominating race two win
Toprak Razgatlioglu put in a sensational ride to clinch his sixth World Superbike win of the season at Navarra.
After finishing the weekend’s first two races in P3, Razgatlioglu’s tilt for victory began with a front row start - vital given the circuit’s difficult to overtake nature.
Razgatlioglu remained in third heading into turn one after gaining a position over Jonathan Rea, but losing one to team-mate Andrea Locatelli who went from fourth to second.
Locatelli then took the lead at turn five, before running slightly wide on exit which allowed Redding and Razgatlioglu back through.
The lead then changed hands just two corners later (turn eight) as the Turkish rider produced one of his stunning late braking manoeuvres on Redding.
It was an overtake that saw Razgatlioglu go on to lead every lap - eventually winning by 1.1 seconds.
"First I say thank you to my team because they did an incredible job for the last race," added Razgatlioglu.
"We changed a little bit the set-up and I felt the bike much better. And also I say finally, I again win.
"This weekend for me was not easy, but every race I’m fighting for a good position. Finally today I won again and it was a very important win."
Razgatlioglu’s win puts him at the top of the championship for just the second time in his career - Phillip Island 2020 the other occasion, but the Yamaha rider is taking each race as it comes.
Razgatlioglu said: "I’m just focused on winning. Maybe I am the leader, but I am always focused on each race. I try again the next race, I’m fighting again."
