Chad has been covering motorsports in the United States since 2004. Born and raised as a Hoosier just miles from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, his passion revolves around the Indy 500 and the entire month of May. Danny Sullivan won the Greatest Spectacle in Racing the year Chad was born, and Dan Wheldon won the race in 2011, the year that his son was born.
The history of the Indy 500 is something that has captivated Chad’s mind since he was young. The people, traditions, storylines, and evolution of racing since the first race in 1911 is something that has always fascinated him. He has a serious appreciation for the event, and everything that goes into the entire month.
NASCAR was king in the 90s, especially with the emergence of hometown drivers like Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart. The inaugural Brickyard 400 lit a fire and ignited a passion for Chad that continues to burn to this day. While IndyCar and NASCAR are his specialties, Chad also enjoys other forms of motorsport such as Formula One, IMSA SportsCars, and USAC Sprint Car racing.
While the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the crown jewel of race tracks, Chad has enjoyed many different venues over the years. Some of his favorite circuits include Road America, Watkins Glen, Long Beach, Bristol, Kansas, and Daytona International Speedway.
Chad also has a great appreciation for motorsports photography, and has worked for several drivers, teams, and sponsors over the last decade. Outside of racing, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and playing basketball.
