Quay Garage Racing returns for BSB assault
Quay Garage Racing is the latest team to confirm its participation in the 2012 MCE British Superbike Championship.
Team principal Ian Woollacott is yet to finalise his line-up for the new season, but outlined his desire to scale greater heights this year after Tommy Bridewell and Peter Hickman claimed the team's first British Superbike podiums in 2011.
With Quay Garage losing Tyco Security Products as its main sponsor to TAS Suzuki, Woollacott revealed he is actively seeking a new backer for the team's assault on the high-profile series.
"We are happy to be continuing our presence in the BSB paddock again next season; we had an enjoyable 2011 which included our first podium finishes in the main class and we can only move forward again now," he said.
"Our team have worked hard to elevate ourselves into a position to challenge at the front of the field and in that respect our personnel line-up remains the same.
"We are still actively working on sponsorship with the team as we expect to reach new highs with the new BSB rules for 2012 and we will be announcing our rider line up in due course."
Quay Garage Honda was established at the end of the 2003 season, when James Buckingham competed in the BSB Cup. Buckingham went on to finish fourth in the Cup class the following year, before lifting the title in 2005 after notching 13 victories and several top ten finishes in the main championship.
The team also won the BSB Cup in 2009 with Gary Mason, who racked up 18 victories on his way to lifting the title.
