Hickman to remain with Buildbase BMW
Peter Hickman has signed to remain with the Buildbase BMW team for the second half of the MCE British Superbike Championship season.
Hickman joined the team at Knockhill in June, taking over the injured Dan Linfoot's ride.
He quickly gelled with the S1000RR and finished inside the top ten at Oulton Park.
Linfoot, still recovering from a hand injury, will not re-join the Buildbase team and instead will take up a new challenge in the World Supersport Championship alongside Florian Marino, who has parted company from the Splitlath Redmond Aprilia BSB team.
Hickman said: "I'm very pleased to be on board with the Buildbase BMW Motorrad team for the 2012 season. Despite having had only a short amount of time to get used to the BMW S1000 RR superbike, I'm very impressed.
"It's the fastest bike I have ever ridden, and it does everything I ask of it. With a little more time to find my own optimum setup, I'm confident we can go on to great things," he added.
"To have taken the team's best qualifying and best result on my second race weekend is a great start, and one which I'm certain we can build on as we move into the second six rounds of the championship."
Earlier this season, Hickman was released by the MSS Bathams Kawasaki team after he rode for World Superbike outfit Fixi Crescent Suzuki at Donington Park.
