Sean Emmett arrested on return to UK
Former grand prix and BSB star Sean Emmett has been arrested on arrival in the UK.
Emmett, 43, had been stranded in Dubai for ten months following the death of his wife Abbie, who fell from a hotel balcony while they were on holiday in February.
After a campaign by friends and fans highlighting Emmett's plight, the Dubai authorities finally returned his passport and on Wednesday Emmett sent the following tweet (below) as he boarded the plane back to the UK.
Unfortunately for the 19 time BSB race winner his ordeal is not yet over, having been arrested upon arrival at London's Heathrow Airport.
A Surrey Police spokesman told the Mirror Online: "A 43-year-old man has today been arrested by Surrey Police officers at Heathrow Airport in connection with the death of Surrey resident Abigail Emmett, nee Elson, in Dubai in February 2013.
"The man remains in custody while inquiries continue and it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
