Ellison fired up for GBmoto Kawasaki bow
Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki rider James Ellison is buzzing with excitement as he prepares to make his debut for the team at Brands Hatch this weekend.
MCE British Superbike contender Ellison admits that the 1.2-mile Indy circuit isn't one of his preferred tracks, but nonetheless the Kendal man excelled at the Kent venue in 2013, taking a victory and fastest lap.
The former MotoGP rider said: "It's definitely an exciting time; the GBmoto boys have been working non-stop over winter and it's time to go out and hopefully get some strong finishes to show that.
"The bike is still only nine days old so we do still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling more comfortable with each session and Chris [Walker] is showing its potential - so with four days at Brands I hope to be able to further adapt my riding style and work my way up the time sheets a bit.
"It's a weird track Brands, I would never say it's my favourite but I've always had good results there, taking a win last year and the fastest laps," he added.
"As the circuit is so short, qualifying is probably more important here than anywhere else. Everyone's lap times are really close and passing is difficult so we need to be up near front come the races Monday."
GBmoto have made the switch from Honda to Kawasaki machinery this year, with Ellison joining the team after a season at Milwaukee Yamaha.
