Solid fifth for MSS Riba.

MSS Discovery's Pere Riba scooped fifth place in Sunday's sixth round of the British Supersport Championship at Thruxton, Hants.

Riba -starting from the front row of the grid for the second time this year- put in another solid, points-scoring display to maintain his record of finishing in the top 10 in every round this year.

"I'm getting the finishes but I'm not happy," said Riba. "I should be doing better than this but I'm just not getting the rear traction I need to challenge for a win."

"The ZX-6RR engine and suspension is working great
but we're still struggling to put the power down to the track," The Spanish rider continued. "I think we're
capable of improving the situation so we'll get to work this week."

Riba's guest rider' team-mate for the weekend, journalist Gus Scott, was heading for the final championship point, in 15th place, before crashing out on the last lap, escaping injury.

"I made a bad start and I'd just about wrecked the tyres trying to make up the ground quickly," said Scott. "I felt the front tyre sliding and then, on the right-hander through the complex, it felt like it had just been swept
away from under me."

"I'm disappointed for the MSS Discovery team," Scott added. "they've put a lot of work in to help me here at Thruxton. The ZX-6RR is a great bike and I'm
pleased to have been given the opportunity to race it."
