Rutter pole, Reynolds fifteenth.

HM Plant Honda's Michael Rutter took pole position in the dry conditions at Croft for the sixth round of the Bennett's British Superbike championship. Team-mate Ryiuchi Kiyonari took fourth place so that the HM Plant Hondas book-end the front row of the grid.

Sandwiched between the two Hondas was Dean Thomas on the Hawk Kawasaki who held provisional pole for half of the session, and in third spot Johnny Rea on the Red Bull Honda, as always Johnny put in his fastest lap with about forty seconds to go. The entire front row are within 0.33secs of one another.

The Hawk Kawasakis had a good qualifying with Thomas front row and Richards in sixth place on row two.

Leon Haslam qualified seventh after a massive tank slapper and crash in the first qualifying session. Just behind him was Michael Laverty on the Stobart Honda who had a superb fourth place finish at Mondello Park and is looking for a podium for the Stobart team.

Steve Plater on the Sendo Kawasaki qualified ninth and was running in the top ten for a large part of the qualifying, he seems to be fired up after his podium finish at the North West 200.

The Virgin Yamaha team of James Haydon and Tommy Hill qualified in twelfth and fourteenth respectively . Hadyon hasn't had a lot of track time with the big bang engine but Rob McElnea team manager is confident both his riders can do well here.

The Rizla Suzuki pairing of John Reynolds and Scott Smart came home in fifteenth and sixteenth respectively, not a brilliant qualifying for them but they are both capable of picking off the competition and no doubt will go well on Sunday.
